The Courses

Four World-Class Courses

From Jack Nicklaus to Pete Dye and Tom Fazio — play layouts designed by legends on some of the most dramatic oceanfront terrain in the world.

Punta Espada Golf Club — oceanfront par 3 with Caribbean Sea, Cap Cana
#1 Caribbean & Mexico GolfWeek
Cap Cana

Punta Espada

Designed by Jack Nicklaus · Opened 2006

Eight holes play directly along the Caribbean Sea on this Jack Nicklaus Signature design. Bluffs, beaches, waterways, and jungle foliage are woven into a layout that GolfWeek ranks #1 in the Caribbean and Mexico.

18 Holes
72 Par
7,396 Yards
137 Slope

Signature Hole

No. 13 — A 250-yard par 3 requiring a tee shot over the open ocean into a green surrounded by lapping waves. Reminiscent of Pebble Beach and one of the most photographed holes in the world.

Teeth of the Dog Golf Course — aerial view of ocean holes, Casa de Campo
#1 Caribbean · Top 50 World Golf Magazine
Casa de Campo, La Romana

Teeth of the Dog

Designed by Pete Dye · Opened 1971

Pete Dye's masterpiece — hand-carved from rugged coral and rock by Dominican workers using sledgehammers and chisels. Seven holes hug the craggy Caribbean coastline. Dye famously said, "I created 11 holes and God created seven."

18 Holes
72 Par
7,253 Yards
135 Slope

Signature Hole

No. 5 — A diabolical 137-yard par 3 perched right on the ocean's edge, better than the island green at TPC Sawgrass. The first of seven consecutive seaside holes that define the front nine.

Corales Golf Course — 18th hole with ocean cliff carry, Punta Cana
PGA TOUR Stop Corales Championship
Puntacana Resort & Club

Corales

Designed by Tom Fazio · Opened 2010

Six Caribbean oceanside holes designed along natural cliffs, bays, and coral quarries. The closing stretch — the Devil's Elbow — features one of golf's most dramatic finishing holes: a forced carry over the cliff-lined Bay of Corales.

18 Holes
72 Par
7,555 Yards
144 Slope

Signature Hole

No. 18 — "The Mother of All Golf Holes." A 501-yard par 4 where the tee shot must cross the Caribbean Sea. Risk and reward at its finest — easily a top 20 hole in the world.

La Cana Golf Course — oceanfront holes along Caribbean Sea, Punta Cana
"DR's Pebble Beach" Golf Magazine
Puntacana Resort & Club

La Cana

Designed by P.B. Dye · Opened 2001

27 holes across three nines — Tortuga, Hacienda, and Arrecife — with 14 ocean-view holes and four played right on the water's edge. Golf Magazine compared La Cana to Pebble Beach. The first Caribbean course to use eco-friendly Paspalum grass watered by the sea.

27 Holes
72 Par
7,251 Yards
136 Slope

Signature Hole

No. 18 (Arrecife) — A stunning 574-yard par 5 along the beach with a split fairway and a green that runs 72 yards front to back. Anything left is lost to the waves. Often compared to the 18th at Pebble Beach.

Insider Tips

Play Like a Local

Practical advice from our team to help you get the most out of your rounds in the DR.

01

Book Early for Peak Season

December through April is prime time. Tee times at Punta Espada and Corales fill weeks in advance — let us reserve yours before you arrive.

02

Respect the Trade Winds

Caribbean trade winds average 15–20 mph, especially on ocean holes. Club up, keep the ball low, and trust your caddie's read.

03

Hydrate & Protect

Tropical sun is relentless. Bring SPF 50+, a wide-brimmed hat, and extra water. The beverage cart will find you, but start hydrated.

04

Tip Your Caddie Well

Caddies in the DR are knowledgeable and friendly. A $30–50 tip per round is standard for good service and goes a long way.

05

Play the Arrecife Nine at La Cana

If you only play 18 at La Cana, make sure Arrecife is one of your nines — the finishing stretch along the beach is spectacular.

06

Stay for the 19th Hole

Every course has a world-class clubhouse. Punta Espada Restaurant, Lago at Casa de Campo, The Grill at La Cana — don't rush home.
